In between the worlds, the player has to complete a mini-game where he has to surf along light-beams in a psychedelic environment. The game is divided into several worlds, each divided into a couple of levels the game is saved automatically after each level. Rayman's main weapon is his fist he can use it to shoot projectiles at the attacking Hoodlums and other foes, and the projectiles are more powerful when the fist is charged by holding down the "shoot" button.
Rayman, the main hero, jumps and punches his way through numerous colorful levels, with Globox (and Andre inside him) tagging along and occasionally commenting on the goings-on. Meanwhile, Admiral Razorbeard hears about this incident and becomes hellbent on catching Globox to extract the Dark Lum, so he can use it to make himself more powerful, while hoping to destroy Rayman again with the Grolgoth.Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is a 3D third-person platform game. As Rayman is about to go and find a way to cure him, Globox runs away, and leaves him worried that he will end up doing something stupid. The game begins with Rayman rebuking Globox for swallowing a Dark Lum while he was trying to save the Teensies. The game appears either to be set between the events of Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, or to be an alternative sequel to Rayman 2.
It was not given the ‘Hoodlum Havoc’ subtitle, as Hoodlums are only being present as enemies in three levels of the game (Hoodlum Hideout, Wretched Ruins and Scaleman’s Keep). There are also versions of this game for some mobile phones, and it was ported to the Nokia N-Gage. The game was originally developed as a Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 2, with its Rayman 3 elements added late in its development so that it could be marketed as a Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3.Įarly preview versions of the game still use the Rayman 2 level names.
It is a 2D side-scrolling game with elements from the original Rayman game, Rayman 2, and Rayman 3, though it is mostly centered around the story of Rayman 2. Rayman 3 is a portable version of the console game of the same name which was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003.
